The Witness. Lines and dots

In my review of the game, I wrote "You can't even imagine how much can be done with lines and dots." Seriously, you can't. The Witness has 500 puzzles that are solved only with lines that the player must draw over/between/through dots. At first glance, this sounds stupid and monotonous. But all puzzles are built on completely different principles, and there's no monotony in the process of solving them.

Some of the "screens with dots" are self-contained and not tied to the environment. Others, on the contrary, can only be solved after understanding what they're connected to. Everything works: landscape forms, sun glare, shadows, sounds, etc.

At the same time, the learning process is very well structured. The first puzzles in the chain are very simple and serve to help the player understand the principle on which the solution is built. Gradually, the tasks become more difficult and may include principles from other tasks. And all this delivers endless fun. As soon as you understand how to use one element, you're given a puzzle in which the same element can be used in a completely different way.

In general, if you love puzzles and have 20 hours for one game, The Witness is definitely a must-have.
